My heart is heavy and mind numb: Shahrukh Khan

For the first time, Shahrukh Khan has bared his heart and expressed his disappointment over his team’s poor start at the ongoing IPL tournament in South Africa.
Kolkata Knight Riders have been one team in the whole group of eight that has courted maximum controversy in the days leading up to the T20 IPL tournament. Be it coach John Buchanan’s decision to have multiple captains and the subsequent removal of Sourav Ganguly as the permanent captain, or the criticism of the team’s strategy by a legend like Sunil Gavaskar, or Shahrukh’s undiplomatic response to Gavaskar’s criticism, nothing seems to have clicked for the Knight Riders so far in this season of IPL.
On top of it the team has lost crucial matches, including the one with Rajasthan Royals on April 23 which KKR seemed poised to win until Shane Warne’s boys snatched the victory away from SRK’s knights.
Perhaps the defeat to the Royals was difficult to digest for SRK, for he poured his heart out after the loss.
“Right now, as I write at 5 a.m. in Cape Town, having lost yet another game, which we could have won, the heart is heavy and the mind is numb,” SRK blogged on KKR’s official website on the morning after the loss to the Royals.
The superstar also felt dejected at having lost important matches at the start of the tournament.
“…Since the commencement of this season, we have a trail of one win out of three, which is not a good position to be in,” he wrote.
Shahrukh did accept that his team has taken certain unpopular decisions and he feels the weight of them every time he watches a match.
“In attempting to give it our best, our team has taken lots of unpopular decisions. Starting with, the multiple captains to choices of whom we play in which match. A truckload of criticism from all quarters has been dumped at our doorsteps. Every time I go and sit in the stadium, I feel the weight of all the choices made,” wrote Shahrukh.
However, since the superstar is an extremely optimistic person, he is not losing his heart and hopes for a better performance from his team in the coming matches.
KKR better pull up their socks.
